Dogs and leash regulations
Dogs must always be kept under supervision so that they do not chase or disturb wildlife. There is a general leash requirement in Solund in accordance with the Dog Act. The leash requirement applies from 1 April to 20 August. Outside this period, dogs may only be off-leash if they:
- are accompanied and controlled responsibly, or
- are securely enclosed

Note:
In many areas of Solund, sheep and goats are kept within electronic fencing systems (Nofence). This means that even if no physical fence is visible, livestock may still be present.
There are also areas with grazing cattle. In this context, it may be useful to familiarize yourself with the guidelines for safe behaviour around cows (link).
